7 Romantic European Destinations That Are Perfect for Your Next Couple’s Getaway

Listen – after ditching my cubicle life to wander around the world, I learned something cool about romance. Some places just got that special something. Europe’s packed with them, actually.

Maybe your thinking “ugh, not another travel list.” Fair! But after spending way too much time drinking wine in random spots (someone’s gotta do it), I found some places that’ll make your heart happy.

Venice, Italy

The other day, someone asked me if Venice is worth it. Like, seriously? When your walking down those tiny streets that don’t make any sense, holding hands and finding random wine bars – that’s when the magic happens.

Sure, everyone talks about them gondolas. Tourist trap? Kind of. But sometimes the obvious stuff works, you know what I mean? Me and my partner found this tiny canal where hardly nobody goes. Way better than the main spots.

Santorini, Greece

Ok so heres the thing about Santorini – them sunsets in Oia? They’re actually better in real life than on Instagram. Which like, never happens anymore.

Nobody tells you the beaches are black as night. For real! Its cause of volcanos and stuff. And get this – some hotels are literally inside caves in the cliffs. Not making this up.

Paris, France

Yeah yeah, I know. Paris is so basic. But wait tho.

This one time I found this tiny wine spot in Montmartre where barely no tourists go. The old dude running it told stories that had me crying laughing. That’s the real Paris right there.

Pro tip – skip them fancy restaurants. Just grab some cheese from a local shop (the smellier the better), find a quiet corner in Luxembourg Gardens, and boom – best dinner ever.

Bruges, Belgium

Picture Venice but with chocolate everywhere and beer that’ll change your life. People call it the “Venice of the North” which sounds pretty fake, but trust – when your floating under them old bridges, it makes sense.

Theres this spot called the Lake of Love with all these swans swimming around. Sounds made up but its real. Between that and all them chocolate shops (like, on literally every corner), romance just sort of happens.

Sintra, Portugal

You ever been somewhere that feels like it came straight outta some fairy tale book? That’s Sintra for ya. One time I got lost in these crazy gardens near Pena Palace and found the coolest hidden spots.

The whole place looks like what would happen if you gave a bunch of romance writers too much coffee and told them to design a town. And when you drive out to the coast? Standing at Cabo da Roca feels like your at the edge of everything.

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Fun fact that’ll make you sound smart – the city’s name sounds just like their word for “beloved.” Pretty perfect for a romantic trip, right?

Most people don’t even know about this place, which makes it better. They don’t let cars in the middle of town, so you can actually hear stuff. Like birds and fountains and whatever. Plus theres this sweet castle up on a hill looking down at everything like its keeping watch.

Hallstatt, Austria

Ok so imagine the prettiest lake you’ve ever seen. Now add some mountains that go straight up to the sky, and put the cutest little town right in between. That’s Hallstatt. First time I saw it I was like “no way this is real.”

They built this thing called the “Skywalk” where you can stand way up in the mountains and see forever. But if heights ain’t your thing, no worries – the cafes in town make hot chocolate that’s basically like a hug in a cup.
